Ribeira Council upgrades 8,600 street lights with Signify

The Ribeira Council in Spain faced the challenge of improving energy efficiency and creating safer, well-lit public spaces by renewing its outdated network of over 8,600 urban light points. To achieve these goals, they partnered with Signify to implement a connected LED lighting solution managed by the Interact City software system.

Signify's solution involved replacing the old lighting with connected LED luminaires, 6,500 of which are controlled via the plug-and-play Interact City system. This provided hassle-free, automated commissioning and near real-time management of light levels. The results included significant reductions in energy consumption and streamlined maintenance, allowing the city to reinvest the cost savings into other areas of its smart city project and establishing Ribeira at the cutting edge of public lighting in Europe.
