ILLUMINATE turns the Bay Lights permanent with Signify's connected lighting

The non-profit arts organization ILLUMINATE, along with state agencies and an artist, created a highly popular temporary LED light sculpture on the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge. Faced with the challenge of making this celebrated installation permanent, they needed a robust and manageable lighting system. Signify provided the solution using their Philips eW Flex Compact LED nodes and Interact Landmark lighting management software.

The solution implemented by Signify involved a new, weather-resistant system of 25,000 LED nodes, all managed via cloud-based software for remote monitoring and control. This ensured minimal downtime and efficient management. The permanent installation had a massive social and economic impact, revitalizing the waterfront and boosting the regional economy by over $100 million annually, solidifying the artwork as a iconic landmark.
