Eindhoven Municipality transforms De Zwerm underpass with Signify’s 1,456-node lighting display

The Eindhoven Municipality sought to transform an anonymous underpass into a landmark that reflected the city's identity as the "City of Lights." Their challenge was to create a dynamic, living artwork that would visually connect traffic flows and strengthen the area's character. They partnered with Signify to achieve this.

Signify implemented a connected lighting solution featuring 1,456 individually controlled Color Kinetics LED nodes managed by Interact Landmark software. This created a dynamic "swarm" of light that reacts to traffic and weather conditions, becoming an instant landmark. The solution also incorporated a Philips BaseLogic system inside the tunnel to automatically adjust light levels for enhanced driver safety and comfort.
