City of Buenos Aires cuts street lighting costs 50% with Signify

The City of Buenos Aires faced a challenge with rising energy consumption and CO² emissions due to its growing population. To become more sustainable, the city needed a high-quality LED street lighting system with cloud-based management software to reduce costs and meet future needs. They partnered with vendor Signify for a solution involving their Interact City lighting management software.

Signify implemented a solution combining energy-efficient LED luminaires with their Interact City software, which was integrated with the SAP HANA platform. This provided a future-proof system for adaptive smart city applications. The project, completed over three years, upgraded 75% of the city's lighting with 91,000 new light points. The results included a 50% reduction in operational costs and a significant decrease in annual CO² emissions.
