Bustanica produces over 1 million kg of leafy greens annually with Signify

Bustanica, a large-scale vertical farm operating in Dubai's harsh desert climate, faced significant challenges in producing fresh leafy greens locally. High temperatures and water scarcity made traditional farming difficult, and importing crops was inefficient. Their challenge was to ensure consistent, year-round production with precise control over climate and light. They partnered with vendor Signify to address this.

Signify implemented a solution using their Philips horticulture LED lighting and climate systems in Bustanica's 27 controlled grow rooms. Tailored light recipes enabled optimal plant growth while ensuring energy efficiency. This allowed for reliable year-round production, and Bustanica now produces over one million kilograms of leafy greens annually as a result of the solution provided by Signify.
