The customer, Bluebottle, faced a challenge in upgrading the lighting for Federation Square, an iconic and heritage-listed civic hub in Melbourne. The goal was to enhance the architecture and night-time visitor experience by creating a cohesive, event-responsive lighting identity that improved safety and inclusion. The vendor, Signify, provided products including Color Kinetics, Dynalite, and a Pharos controller for this project.

Signify's solution, implemented by certified system integrator Bluebottle, involved supplying and programming an integrated system of fixtures mounted across the building's geometric forms. This included a custom catenary lighting housing. The result was a dynamic lighting scheme that successfully delivered the design intent, enhanced safety, and created a memorable night-time identity for the landmark, strengthening its role as a welcoming public destination.
