Hyfen cuts proof of life response time to 10 minutes with Signicat

Hyfen, a company created by pension provider APG, faced the challenge of modernizing the inefficient and customer-unfriendly paper-based process for proving life (attestation de vita) for pensioners living abroad. The old method required a notarized paper form that could take weeks and involve significant travel for elderly customers. Hyfen partnered with Signicat to implement a digital solution using its ReadID technology to create a more efficient, fraud-resistant process for providers and a faster, more enjoyable journey for users.

The solution implemented by Signicat used the ReadID Ready app, which allowed users to verify their identity by scanning their document's NFC chip and completing face verification. This digitized process saw responses within 10 minutes of the QR code being sent. The trial was a great success, with one provider, bpfBouw, reporting that one-third of all customers abroad used the new digital method shortly after its introduction, drastically increasing administrative efficiency.
