Signiant Media Exchange Faciliates Fast, Secure Transfer of Video Assets for Japan’s Mainichi Broadcasting System

Mainichi Broadcasting System (MBS), a major TV broadcaster serving 22 million viewers in Japan’s Kansai region, teamed with IMAGICA DIGIX to produce the 60th‑anniversary series "Around the World in 60 Days." Field teams captured and rough‑edited 200–500 MB video clips from multiple remote locations with often poor public‑internet connectivity and needed a fast, reliable way to deliver footage to MBS’s Osaka studio for final editing and broadcast.

Signiant’s Media Exchange (MX) provided a browser‑based transfer solution and IP‑based Acceleration Protocol, giving secure, efficient transfers over the public Internet. The deployment delivered up to 2× faster transfers than TCP at about 95% efficiency, enabled IMAGICA DIGIX to acquire content from 21 countries, and ensured timely, reliable delivery of footage for broadcast.
