RTV Slovenia Jumps Over Satellites and FTP, Lands on Signiant

RTV Slovenia, the national public broadcaster based in Ljubljana and a broadcaster of major events like the Olympics, struggled with slow, costly and quality-degrading content transfers. For recent Games they relied on expensive satellite links and later on FTP over private IP, which introduced delays, unpredictable bandwidth contention and frequent transfer failures that disrupted editing and playout workflows.

Working with systems integrator CS Computers, RTV deployed Signiant Jet and Media Shuttle to replace satellites and FTP. The software gave them controlled bandwidth, checkpoint-restart reliability, monitoring and email notifications, enabling fast, predictable transfers from field crews and foreign bureaus into Ljubljana. The result was higher-quality, timely content delivery, reduced operational stress and a dependable workflow used across regional centers and international offices.
