Joyce Meyer Ministries moves 40 TB to S3 with Signiant Flight

Joyce Meyer Ministries, a global Christian nonprofit organization producing extensive daily television and radio programming, faced a significant challenge in archiving its massive volume of media content. Their existing optical disk archiving (ODA) system was too slow and hands-on for their needs, making it difficult to cost-effectively scale their deep archive operations. They partnered with Signiant to find a file acceleration solution to serve as a pipeline to Amazon S3 cloud storage.

Signiant implemented its Flight solution to automate and accelerate the transfer of media assets to the cloud. This provided a robust, cost-effective deep archive that mirrored their on-premises storage. The results were so successful, moving 40TB in the first year with plans for 600TB more, that they also adopted Signiant Media Shuttle for global distribution of their Daily TV show. This replaced slow FTP, providing faster transfers, greater control, and detailed activity reporting, leading to substantial time savings and operational efficiencies for the ministry.
