A Signiant Case Study
Joyce Meyer Ministries, a St. Louis–based nonprofit with Daily TV and radio programs airing on 1,000+ stations in 90+ languages and a 20+ year video archive, needed a scalable, cost-effective way to move and preserve large volumes of incoming and historical tape-based content. Their existing optical disk archiving (ODA) workflow was slow and manual, and while cloud storage (Amazon S3) offered clear benefits, efficient large-file transfer over IP was a blocking problem.
Working with Chesapeake Systems and their Levels Beyond Reach Engine MAM, the ministry deployed Signiant Flight to accelerate uploads to S3—preserving SAN folder structures—and moved 40 TB in the first year with plans for 600 TB over the next two years, cutting costs and creating a reliable cloud mirror. They also adopted Signiant Media Shuttle for delivery of the Daily TV show (three portals, ~50 users), gaining faster, more controlled, and trackable distribution to domestic broadcasters with international rollouts planned.
