Telefónica, a global telecommunications leader, partnered with Spain’s Ministry of Defence to solve a persistent problem: delivering large media and personal files to ships and remote bases despite intermittent connectivity, limited bandwidth, inconsistent tooling and high security requirements. These constraints disrupted workflows and harmed morale for personnel afloat and ashore, so the ministry needed a single, reliable solution that worked under the toughest network conditions.

Telefónica deployed Signiant Manager+Agents—integrated into its secure network and new OTT platform—using features like checkpoint-restart, monitoring and bandwidth-aware transfers to reliably move content to 27 locations (11 land, 18 ships). The result was dependable, secure file delivery even across narrow or interrupted links, streamlined workflows, and measurable improvements in crew wellbeing and operational efficiency.
