Hearst Television, which operates 29 local TV and two radio stations, faced fragmented, FTP-based ad delivery workflows that required heavy manual oversight, varied file formats and deadlines that constrained revenue. The inconsistent ingest, verification and transcoding processes across stations made same-day ad delivery impractical and strained local operations.

Hearst implemented UploadSpot using Signiant Managers+Agents as a private cloud to centralize ingest, automatic routing to Telestream transcoding, metadata generation and distribution to local stations. The system cut processing time to about 30 seconds per spot (vs. 5–10 minutes), handles 5,000–6,000 ads per week, enables late selling, reduces shipping and tape costs, eliminates custom FTP scripts, and provides centralized audit, tracking and self-service for advertisers.
