A Signiant Case Study
Hearst Television, a national multimedia company that owns and operates 29 local TV stations, faced slow, inconsistent workflows for receiving, verifying, transcoding and distributing local and national ad spots. The variety of delivery methods and file formats required significant human oversight and imposed tight ad-closing deadlines that limited revenue potential.
Hearst selected Signiant’s Managers+Agents platform as the centerpiece of a private‑cloud solution that centralizes ingest, automates transcoding and metadata generation (via tight integration with Telestream and the traffic system), and routes spots electronically to stations. Already deployed at three stations for testing, the system reduces tape and shipping costs, saves local resources, enables more late selling of commercial time, and aims to accelerate time to air and time to revenue across the station group.
