Cinema Máquina Taps a Global Market with the Help of Media Shuttle

Cinema Máquina, a Mexico City film and TV post‑production facility, faced the common media challenges of dispersed creative teams, massive files moving long distances, and tight, time‑sensitive dailies—compounded when the Netflix series Selena continued production through the pandemic. With shoots happening across Mexico and editors and VFX artists working remotely, the studio needed a faster, more secure way to ingest camera cards and deliver dailies than physical drives or consumer file‑sharing tools.

They implemented Signiant’s Media Shuttle—setting up project portals and upload stations so camera cards could be uploaded immediately, reliably, and securely. The result: remote workflows that operated as if on‑site, faster turnaround (dailies ready by midday), seamless collaboration with ~35 VFX artists, and scaled usage across 10–15 portals and 70–80 users (about 50 active). Business output also grew: Cinema Máquina now handles roughly 10–14 feature films and ~10+ series annually, and from 2019–2021 completed 40,972 transfers totaling 329,976 GB, enabling a sustainable hybrid, global workflow.
