UPenn eliminates paper-based research documents with Signeasy

The University of Pennsylvania’s Prevention Research Center (UPenn PRC) ran a field study on skin cancer prevention that required multi‑page consent and interview forms for more than 80 participants collected in outdoor locations like beaches and parks. Relying on paper documentation made transport and organization cumbersome and created a significant paperwork burden for the study team.

After testing several options, the team chose Signeasy and deployed the Signeasy app on iPads (with documents managed via the Signeasy web app). Interviewers and participants signed consent and gift‑card receipts electronically, saved signatures for repeat use, emailed signed copies to participants, and stored files by participant ID. Signeasy helped the team avoid carrying over 200 paper forms, streamlined document organization, reduced paperwork overhead, and enabled faster, on‑site processing and record retrieval.
