Process management at the bank with the most satisfied customers

Sparda‑Bank Berlin eG, ranked by Kundenmonitor® as Germany’s most customer‑satisfied bank for 25 years, launched a business process management initiative to create a MaRisk‑compliant organization manual. The challenge was to analyze and revise all working instructions and commercial processes and to introduce organization‑wide process management so compliance and process transparency were built into everyday operations.

The bank selected Signavio Process Manager for its intuitive interface and BPMN 2.0 support, mapped processes into core/management/support categories, and ran workshops beginning with the loan department; Lotus Notes documents were integrated and all processes were captured in BPMN. After brief training staff began modeling immediately, the Collaboration Hub gives 700 employees access to the process portal, and the integrated approval workflow manages sign‑offs—delivering a MaRisk‑compliant organization manual and bank‑wide process transparency.
