How Process Modeling Helps Align Strategy and Operational Excellence

Matmut Group, a leading French insurer with 4.5 million members and 8.2 million policies, tasked its Centre of Excellence with improving quality, simplification, and long‑term performance across diverse insurance lines. The main challenge was to align strategy and operations by gathering expectations, identifying cross‑functional dysfunctions, describing end‑to‑end “as is” and “to be” processes, and reducing the time and resources spent on process modeling.

Matmut adopted SAP Signavio solutions—using BPMN 2.0–based, collaborative tools that are easy to deploy and use—to model, analyze, and optimize processes. The initiative strengthened business–IT dialogue, built a process culture, focused enterprise architecture on value creation, and delivered more stable, robust, and fluid project and operational processes while cutting the time and effort required to document and transform workflows.
