1&1 Telecommunication SE faced the challenge of continuously improving customer-facing DSL processes in a highly competitive and regulated market while closing the gap between business and IT. Achieving high customer satisfaction required greater automation, flexibility and consistent cross-departmental collaboration so that business designs could be reliably turned into technical implementations.
To address this, 1&1 adopted the Signavio Process Editor with BPMN 2.0 and integrated process engines (jBPM and Camunda), letting business units model processes and IT add technical details in a single, browser-based tool. The solution—used by hundreds of modelers—offered discussion, analysis and a reusable object dictionary, delivering rapid user acceptance, increased transparency, streamlined processes and a solid foundation for requirements engineering and automation.
