AOK Shared process platform for a health insurance company

AOK — a group of three autonomous public health insurance subsidiaries active across seven German states — needed a consistent, company-wide way to manage business processes and plan HR in the face of demographic change and new legal requirements. Each subsidiary had its own modeling workspace but required better sharing, benchmarking and governance of process knowledge to support organizational change.

They deployed Signavio Process Editor on-premise, replacing ARIS and Visio and migrating 4,000 process models into a shared platform. The solution enabled HR demand planning from process KPIs, Excel reporting, expert collaboration via comments, an integrated dictionary and intranet publishing — resulting in faster identification of improvement potential, smoother IT rollouts (e.g., SAP impacts), broad access to process knowledge and low training effort.
