Appledore Lifeboat Station shores up community support with Signagelive digital signage

Appledore Lifeboat Station, a Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) base in Devon, wanted a better way to engage visitors, share its rescue history, and build stronger community support and fundraising. Working with Signagelive, the station launched its first digital signage system to move beyond static historical displays and communicate more compellingly with the public.

Signagelive provided a one-screen digital signage solution using a JVC display, an Amazon Fire TV Stick, and a free CMS licence. The station now uses the system to share near-real-time rescue footage, training videos, safety messages, and fundraising promotions, with advanced scheduling and live editing helping keep content timely. The result has been a significant increase in visitor engagement, stronger community connections, better internal team awareness, and more effective fundraising promotion.
