Miro, a major online collaboration platform, faced significant challenges testing its complex, distributed system. Their engineering teams, especially the AI team building new agentic features, were constrained by a lack of parallel testing environments. This led to developers overwriting each other's work in a single, contested staging slot and pull requests queuing up, severely slowing down development. Using Signadot, Miro implemented on-demand, ephemeral sandbox environments that integrate with their Kubernetes and Istio stack. This solution allowed developers and coding agents to test changes against real services and live traffic in parallel. The results were substantial: Miro consolidated approximately 15 fixed environments down to 3, increased integration testing capacity by 10x, and projected annual savings of millions of dollars from retiring legacy infrastructure.
