Salford Primary Care, an NHS provider in the Manchester area, faced rising demand for out-of-hours phlebotomy and smear-test bookings while still managing appointments by pen and paper, which created administrative backlog. To address this they engaged Sign In Scheduling (using the 10to8 online booking platform) to introduce a digital appointment system across their three clinics and enable out-of-hours scheduling.
Sign In Scheduling implemented its scheduling platform with availability, calendar and multi-location features to digitize bookings and staff allocations. As a result monthly bookings grew from ~200 to 1,500 (a 650% increase), typical patient wait times fell from 5 days to 2 days, over 9,000 appointments have been handled to date, and a new clinic launched in March 2022 now manages 10–12 telephone appointments per working day with a no-show rate under 7%.
