Barchester Healthcare, one of the UK’s largest independent care home providers with over 250 homes and seven hospitals, needed a way to safely manage socially distanced family visits during the COVID‑19 pandemic. After a 10‑home proof of concept, Barchester chose the 10to8 scheduling solution to modernize bookings, coordinate visiting suites and manage capacity across its sites.

10to8 rolled out bookable visiting suites, automated communications (PPE and pre‑visit PCR reminders), managed time slots, outdoor visit coordination and bedroom visits, supported by onboarding and training. The system went live in November 2020 across 250+ locations, handled over 47,000 appointments at Christmas and now supports more than 660,000 bookings to date—reducing staff workload, improving compliance and customer experience, and enabling Barchester’s digital transformation.
