A Sigmoid Case Study
Sigmoid helped a leading investment bank automate its financial crime compliance analysis. The bank's challenge was its manual, Excel-based risk scoring process, which took up to three days to assess client risk and ensure regulatory compliance. This process was hampered by low-quality data, a legacy system, and a non-standardized batch framework.
Sigmoid's solution involved collecting customer data from over 30 sources, processing it, and using a Java architecture with a Db2 database to calculate risk scores. These scores were then displayed on ElasticSearch for easy monitoring. The solution automated the entire process, reducing risk assessment time from three days to one hour and cutting operational costs by 1.5x. Sigmoid also established a fault-tolerant, standardized batch framework for future use.
