DoorDash Logs a 30% Increase in Queries while Keeping the Snowflake Cost Constant with Sigma

DoorDash, the technology company connecting consumers with local businesses, needed a BI platform that could scale self-service analytics without expensive per-person licensing, dashboard performance bottlenecks, or heavy dependence on data engineering. The company wanted a tool that could democratize access to live data and make collaboration easier across its organization. Sigma Computing, using its Sigma analytics platform, was selected after DoorDash evaluated several BI options.

With Sigma Computing, DoorDash rebuilt more than 5,000 dashboards and onboarded over 30,000 users, enabling 12,000 internal users to access and edit live dashboards. Sigma helped DoorDash simplify SQL-heavy analytics, improve collaboration, and support real-time reporting and scheduled exports. The result was a 25%–30% increase in queries while keeping Snowflake costs flat, along with better governance, faster decision-making, and more efficient cross-functional reporting.
