A Sigma Computing Case Study
Customer.io, a marketing technology leader founded in 2012, needed a better way to make data accessible across the company. After using Mode with AWS Redshift, dbt, and eventually Snowflake, the team found its BI setup was expensive, limited to 30–40 licenses, and too dependent on SQL, making self-service analytics difficult for nontechnical users.
Customer.io implemented Sigma Computing’s Sigma platform as its new BI and analytics solution, choosing it over Mode and Looker for its modern spreadsheet-style interface and ease of use. The switch drove more than a 50% lift in adoption and usage, empowered over 100 users to explore business performance, and expanded active dashboard creators from fewer than 10 to about 20, while also improving collaboration and reducing friction for data exploration.
