Large Federal Agency, a U.S. government organization with more than 8,000 employees, needed a way to monitor dozens of systems across four remote datacenters and accurately bill internal departments for IT resource usage. To support this chargeback model, the agency turned to Sightline’s IT performance monitoring and analytics software to track real-time resource utilization across multiple mainframes and server environments.

Sightline implemented its Enterprise Data Manager (EDM) and Power Agents to continuously collect system data in real time across the agency’s mainframes and more than 13,000 Unix, Windows, and Linux servers. The solution enabled accurate billing chargebacks, improved capacity planning and reporting, and streamlined root cause analysis and anomaly detection, reducing mean time to resolution from hours to minutes.
