How WernerCo’s new CPO transformed their procurement team through a digitalization journey to be data-driven and strive for continuous improvement

WernerCo, a global manufacturer founded in 1922 with 20+ brands selling in over 100 countries, faced a procurement function that had not scaled with rapid company growth — heavily tactical, manual, and lacking standardized tools, metrics and processes. To become data-driven and enable continuous improvement, WernerCo partnered with Sievo, adopting Sievo’s Spend Analysis, Savings Program Management and Realized Savings Measurement to digitize spend data and standardize procurement practices.

Sievo delivered a globally connected analytics platform that mapped WernerCo’s spend to a four-level taxonomy, tracked savings projects to the line-item level, and reported realized savings (year‑on‑year and cumulative) through to the bottom line. The Sievo tools improved cross‑unit information sharing, accelerated pandemic risk response by replacing weeks of manual data collection with immediate visibility, and helped embed a culture of data-driven continuous improvement and measurable savings tracking across WernerCo.
