A Siemens PLM Case Study
Renault faced rising onboard electrical demand and needed a simulation tool that design engineers (not just simulation experts) could use to size batteries and alternators, share models across departments, avoid late design changes and shorten development cycles. To meet these challenges Renault turned to Siemens PLM and its LMS Imagine.Lab Amesim (LMS) multi‑domain simulation product.
Siemens PLM implemented LMS Imagine.Lab Amesim to provide a user‑friendly, numerically robust platform for precise battery/alternator sizing, control‑strategy optimization and worst‑case validation, with easy sharing and Simulink compatibility. The result: LMS from Siemens PLM is “accurate, reliable and five times faster” than Renault’s prior tool, enabling earlier electrical‑system optimization, reduced physical tests, lower electrical power consumption and avoidance of late design changes.
