Leading plant and process automation firm uses Mechatronics Concept Designer to develop flexible packaging machines for the cosmetics industry

Festo, a family-owned plant and process automation company based in Esslingen, Germany, needed a way to help manufacturers fill and pack different products and formats on a single production line. The company used Siemens PLM’s NX and Mechatronics Concept Designer to support its Multi-Carrier-System for flexible transport solutions.

Siemens PLM helped Festo simulate and validate machine concepts earlier in the process, including cycle speed and output, so customers could see whether requirements could be met during the quotation phase. With the ability for engineers to work simultaneously, Festo reduced development time by up to 30 percent and designed transport solutions more efficiently by re-using data.
