De Voogt Naval Architects - Customer Case Study

De Voogt Naval Architects, a Haarlem-based specialist in custom luxury motor yachts, faced long lead times, production inefficiencies and quality risks from a largely 2D design process. To create realistic integrated ship models and improve change control and data access, they engaged Siemens PLM and adopted NX for 3D design together with Teamcenter for digital lifecycle and data management.

Siemens PLM implemented an NX-based 3D workflow and Teamcenter PLM, cutting hull-shape development time by almost half (from about 2,200 hours), eliminating unauthorized modifications, improving design accuracy to roughly 0.1 mm, and reducing production issues—results that sped delivery, improved quality and enabled the firm’s growth while giving partners access to up-to-date data.
