A Siemens Mobility Case Study

Preview of the Stuttgart Case Study

Stuttgart targets climate neutrality by 2035 with Siemens Mobility

Stadtwerke Stuttgart, the municipal utility for the city, faced the immense challenge of helping Stuttgart become climate-neutral by 2035, a full decade ahead of the national requirement. This required saving 3.6 megatons of CO2 equivalents annually. To begin this journey, they partnered with vendor Siemens Mobility to implement a comprehensive sustainability concept, starting with the modernization of their own headquarters using Siemens' Building X platform.

Siemens implemented its AI-driven Building X suite to create a digital twin of the building, providing applications for energy management, real-time operations monitoring, and lifecycle asset management. This solution enabled intelligent control and monitoring to reduce energy consumption and improve efficiency. The partnership transformed the utility's new headquarters into a sustainability showcase and established a framework for future projects to support the city's ambitious climate roadmap.
