Western Carolina University cuts energy use 55% with Brightly Software

Western Carolina University faced the challenge of tracking its energy usage and costs across its large campus with only a single utility bill and spreadsheets, lacking visibility into individual building consumption. Using the Energy Manager's Allocations feature, Brightly Software provided a solution that distributed the single utility bill into 82 subsidiary accounts, allowing the university to track usage by building. This visibility enabled informed decisions on facility repairs and updates. The results were significant, including a 55% reduction in BTU per square foot, which leads the UNC system, and enhanced ability to conserve energy and cut costs.
