How Kingfisher brought colleagues together to recognise their 'Amazing Stories' in unprecedented times

Kingfisher, the retail group with 78,000 employees, wanted to recognise and celebrate the outstanding efforts of colleagues during the disruption of COVID-19. The company was already seeing pockets of recognition on Microsoft Yammer, but needed a way to bring those local efforts together into a global employee engagement campaign.

Sideways 6 helped Kingfisher run its “Amazing Stories” programme by capturing nominations from Yammer, supporting local-language participation, and using StoryBot and review workflows to manage and curate submissions centrally. In four months, the campaign generated 620 stories and engaged more than 2,100 employees, while also raising over £7,000 for charity and creating a digital mosaic of colleague contributions across the business.
