AstraZeneca wanted to flatten its organization, spark innovation, and put the company’s future direction in the hands of its 76,000+ employees across 120 countries. To do that, it needed a simple, scalable way for everyone to share ideas as part of the AZ2025 strategic crowdsourcing campaign, and it turned to Sideways 6 to support the effort through integrations with Workplace by Facebook and WeChat.
Sideways 6 provided the platform and flexibility to manage idea collection, translation, dashboards, and expert/crowd reviews so no submission was missed. Over three weeks, AstraZeneca generated 77,000 ideas, comments, and likes from employees in 70 countries, and the campaign helped make crowdsourcing and ideation a lasting part of AstraZeneca’s culture.
