Hyatt Regency Trinidad, home to Lime — its flagship all-inclusive Carnival event — saw growing attendance but also a rising number of chargebacks and fraudulent purchases. The hotel needed a partner who could quickly detect suspicious activity, provide hands-on training, and overhaul its admissions process to protect revenue and preserve the event experience.
Partnering with ShowClix Risk Management, Hyatt implemented a tailored admissions strategy that included proprietary anomaly-detection software, proactive attendee verification, and a will-call–only ticket delivery policy. The changes drove an 89% reduction in chargebacks, prevented roughly $200K in fraudulent losses, and reduced fraud-related sales loss to under 1%.
