Case Study: Westlake Academy achieves streamlined 1:1 workflows and improved student organization with Showbie

A Showbie Case Study

Preview of the Westlake Academy Case Study

Successful 1:1 Implementation Through Diligent Planning

Westlake Academy, an International Baccalaureate K–12 charter school in Texas, faced the challenge of scaling a successful 1:1 device program while keeping students and teachers organized and able to collaborate globally. Teachers initially struggled to manage assignments and feedback on small‑screen iPad minis, so the school sought a workflow tool to support its digital curriculum—leading staff to introduce the Showbie app as a classroom management and assignment platform.

After rolling out iPad Air devices and teacher-led training, Showbie adoption grew quickly: today more than half of Westlake Academy’s teachers use the app regularly. Showbie centralized assignment distribution, annotation, and submission, reduced lost or incomplete work, sped up feedback turnaround, and let students assemble digital portfolios for Student‑Led Conferences in minutes—streamlining teacher workflows, improving student organization, and enabling better teacher–student–parent communication.
