A Showbie Case Study

Enriching Pedagogy Through the Right Digital Tools

Brisbane State High School, a Queensland school of 3,200+ students, faced the challenge of making a large-scale 1:1 iPad rollout functionally transform learning rather than just add devices. To support pedagogy, teacher collaboration and consistent student feedback across subjects, the school adopted Showbie as a core teaching and learning app to collect and distribute work, provide timely feedback, and link with existing systems.

Showbie was implemented school-wide with teacher PD and use of features like Shared Folders, Groups and annotation/voice comments to streamline workflow and strengthen teacher–student and parent communication. The result was measurable: improved student outcomes (one student moved from a C to an A due to increased feedback), greater parental involvement, and significant cost savings (Humanities photocopying budget fell from $9,000 to a projected $3,000–$4,000), demonstrating Showbie’s impact on pedagogy, efficiency and engagement.
