British School Muscat - Customer Case Study

British School Muscat, a 1,200‑student British international school in Oman, needed ways to unify a highly diverse student body, improve primary French pronunciation, and strengthen home–school communication while only beginning to roll out devices schoolwide. Rosie Kolster, a Year 3–6 French teacher with the school’s only 1:1 iPad classroom, adopted Showbie (and supplemented it with Socrative) to deliver written and verbal feedback, store pronunciation resources, and share student work with parents.

Using Showbie, Rosie created pronunciation slide folders, recorded verbal feedback on student work, and gave all 400 parents access to student portfolios; Showbie helped improve overall pronunciation, reduced communication issues (Rosie reports zero negative parent encounters), and increased student independence. Paired with Socrative’s instant tests and gamified quizzes, the tools delivered real‑time results—most students retake quizzes until they reach 100%—maintaining lesson continuity and boosting classroom engagement and performance.
