A Showbie Case Study
The South Shore Regional Centre for Education (SSRCE) in Nova Scotia implemented the TELP 1:1 iPad program to personalize learning for 6,300+ students across multiple school sites, but teachers faced workflow, submission and equity challenges—managing diverse file formats, tracking missing work, limited training time, and students without home internet. SSRCE educators introduced Showbie as a simple, consistent workflow and content‑management solution to distribute, collect and provide feedback on student work.
SSRCE piloted and scaled Showbie through teacher champions and district tech support; usage doubled by year two and now more than 50% of teachers use the app because it integrates with other apps and supports UDL approaches. Showbie cut missing assignments in a grade 10 English class from 5.21% to 0.63%, boosted work submission and accountability, enabled accessible portfolios and accommodations (voice notes, annotations), and streamlined co‑op paperwork and employer assessments.
