What Brisbane City did to collect thousands of leads and Instagram Follows

Brisbane City, part of Brisbane Marketing, wanted to boost awareness and social engagement over the holiday season by increasing Instagram and Facebook followers and positioning the city as a destination to shop, play and stay. To run a high-impact giveaway without building custom code, Brisbane City used ShortStack’s Points for Actions template and related ShortStack widgets to collect entries and reward bonus entries for following their Instagram or visiting their website.

ShortStack powered the “12 Stays of Christmas” campaign, awarding extra entries for social actions and enabling easy sharing and rules display. The giveaway exceeded expectations—7,285 entries (vs. ~1,500 expected), 15,103 views (10,891 unique), 177 shares, 4,040 bonus points awarded for Instagram follow clicks—and delivered 2,521 new Instagram followers and 1,990 new Facebook Likes.
