International Travel Company Uses ShortStack to Crowdsource Ideas for New Destination

Tusker Trail, an international adventure travel company, faced the challenge of choosing its next trek destination while also wanting to grow its marketing list and boost brand exposure. To solve this, Tusker Trail used ShortStack’s campaign and publishing features to build a crowdsourcing contest—hosted as a Facebook app and embedded on their website—so customers could vote on future destinations and enter to win a trek.

Using ShortStack, Tusker Trail launched and promoted the voting campaign across Facebook, their website, email, paid ads and PR, driving 16,174 campaign views and 4,622 votes. The effort collected 1,817 new email addresses, gained 353 Facebook fans, and produced 298,255 ad impressions with 12,848 clicks at $0.26 CPC; the audience chose Patagonia as the new trek. Tusker Trail then used the ShortStack-generated entrant list in a five-email follow-up series to maintain engagement and convert leads.
