hhgregg, the Indianapolis-based electronics and home-appliance retailer, wanted to attract new customers and spotlight Samsung’s new kitchen and laundry appliances by leveraging election-season buzz. To run a themed sweepstakes and maximize entries and social shares, hhgregg partnered with ShortStack and used ShortStack’s Voting Widget to create an election-style voting and entry experience.
Using ShortStack’s Voting, Product, Share and Visibility Widgets, hhgregg ran Primary and General Election rounds with pop-up entry forms, product highlights, social sharing and in‑store selfie incentives, plus “Breaking News” videos to promote the campaign. The ShortStack-powered effort delivered 126,000 entries and 16,000 shares on Twitter and Instagram—significantly exceeding hhgregg’s goals of 100K entries and 10K shares—and simplified winner selection and creative swaps.
