GoPro, a market leader in wearable cameras, needed a two-pronged branding campaign to rally fans behind pro surfer Kelly Slater’s bid for his 12th ASP title while raising money for the charity Waves for Water. Drawing on previous success with ShopIgniter, GoPro chose ShopIgniter’s Igniter 4.0 platform to ignite social momentum and expand reach.

ShopIgniter created a mobile-first, socialized microsite with Facebook open-graph actions and integrated YouTube, Instagram and Twitter streams to prompt fans to use #GoKelly and “Share Your Stoke.” In under a week the campaign raised $10,000 for Waves for Water, drove 10,000 tweets with the campaign hashtag and logged over 4,000 microsite visits, surpassing GoPro’s goals and leading them to plan future uses of the template.
