With home delivery and local pickup, Molson Coors lays its direct-to-consumer foundation

Molson Coors Beverage Company needed a fast way to reach consumers directly when COVID-19 disrupted its traditional sales channels, especially with bars and restaurants closed. To launch a direct-to-consumer model in time for its key summer season, the company turned to Shopify Plus and Shopify POS to support online ordering, home delivery, and local pickup in Toronto.

With Shopify, Molson Coors launched its Ship and Sip ecommerce site in just 10 days, enabling delivery across the GTA and in-store brewery checkout. The rollout drove strong early results: sales rose 188% month over month, orders increased 152%, and conversion rates improved 109%, while also giving Molson Coors a direct customer relationship it could use for feedback, testing, and future growth.
