Timber Bamboo is a San Diego–based apparel brand (founded 2009) that sells eco-friendly bamboo sunglasses. The founder launched the line after spotting demand for the product and faced two main challenges: finding trustworthy overseas suppliers who used sustainable materials and standing out in a crowded online market to drive sales.

To solve this, Timber Bamboo built a Shopify store, partnered with vetted overseas manufacturers, and invested in paid acquisition—initial sales came from AdWords and today most traffic and conversions come from PPC (AdWords and Facebook) plus retargeting, with growing organic engagement on Instagram. They also use Chatra for live chat, SumoMe for email capture and social sharing, and Yotpo to build reviews; domestic orders are fulfilled via Amazon FBA and international orders ship from the founder’s home, producing steady sales and an expanding audience.
