The SoLa Look is a Boston-based makeup brand launched in 2013 out of SoLatina, an organization supporting single Latina moms. Founders saw frequent requests for beauty advice and a lack of brands that “spoke” to Latinas, so they worked with U.S. contract manufacturers to develop cosmetics tailored to those needs.
They drove early sales through influencer coverage (their first sale came from YouTuber WhatWouldLizzyDo) and now rely on Instagram, YouTube and newsletters. On the operations side they fulfill in-house and use Shopify apps like Yotpo, Abandonment Protector, In‑Stock Reminder, Klaviyo and Order Printer Templates to capture reviews, recover carts, notify restocks, send polished emails and grow traffic—results include improving newsletter engagement and recovered revenue that’s already paid for the cart recovery tool.
