The Skin Nerd’s, founded by Jennifer Rock, is a skincare brand and virtual consultation business that needed to move quickly when COVID-19 lockdowns disrupted its retail expansion plans. With online sales becoming critical, the company had to rebuild its main store and launch its sister brand Skingredients faster than originally planned, using Shopify Plus.

Shopify rebuilt The Skin Nerd’s store in just eight days and launched Skingredients one month later, helping the brand handle traffic spikes and scale efficiently. The results were strong: page load time dropped from nine seconds to under two seconds, conversions increased by 19%, sales reached 10X peak levels, and Shopify helped save about $10,000 a year on apps and $35,000 a year on developer or agency fees.
