The Great Cookie, a beloved Baltimore baker founded in 1979 with seven local shops and a famous Snickerdoodle, needed a way to sell fresh cookies nationwide and better represent the brand online. Their old site was dated and not built for growth, and they also wanted a way for customers to find their two roaming mobile cookie trucks.
Owner Jason Fruman teamed with ecommerce executive Jaime Elwood and a local agency to relaunch the site on Shopify. The new site added Mailchimp email marketing, social feeds and a Twitter‑based truck locator, plus ShipRush/Stamps.com shipping and a custom delivery‑date calculator. SEO and outreach to a 3,000‑person email list drove traffic, organic rankings and conversions improved above industry averages, sales surged (tripling during a winter storm), and the company has expanded national shipping, corporate gifting partnerships and fundraising programs.
